Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL


 Mr. Robert Edward Aman, Jr., of Ozark, died Sunday evening, August 7, 2016, in Dale Medical Center. He was 93 years old.


Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Joe Underwood and Reverend Kenneth Andrews officiating.  Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Wednesday from 1:00 P. M. until service time.


Mr. Aman was born February 9, 1923 in Ashford, Alabama to the late Robert Edward “Ned” Aman, Sr. and Maggie Hortense Jernigan Aman.  He was a World War II Veteran serving in the Army Signal Corps in Africa.  Following the war, he began his career with Alabama Power Company as a line crew member.  Forty years later he retired as Local Manager in Daleville, Alabama.  He and his late wife then moved to Arguta where he was active in their community and church.  He took great joy in cultivating a large garden and sharing the produce with his friends and family.  He was a former member of Ozark Baptist Church, Daleville Baptist Church, and for the last thirty years he was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Ernestine Childree Aman; and his sister, Tommie Aman Dubois.


He is survived by his daughter, Beverly A. Ketcham (Jimmy); his son, Steven Aman;  grandchildren, Sam Perry (fiancé Angie), Matt Perry (Stacey) and their child, Kennedy; Rachel Aman; and step-grandson, Jason Ketcham (Sara) and their children, Sandralynn and Aubrey.


The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care given by the staff of Meadow Hall at Ozark Health and Rehabilitation and the staff of Dale Medical Center.
