OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK

Mr. Robert LaDon “Don” Carroll, 83, of Ewell, died unexpectedly at his home late Saturday evening, December 29, 2012.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, January 2, 2013, from Chalkhead Baptist Church with Reverend Tommy West officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the church from 12:00 Noon until service time.
Mr. Carroll was born December 6, 1929 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Floyd Maple Carroll and Inez Stewart Carroll. He attended Dale County High School and attended Wallace Junior College. Following his service in the United States Navy, Mr. Carroll moved to Atlanta where he lived for forty years and worked with Ryder Truck Lines until his retirement. He moved back to Ozark in 1990 and later began working as a substitute school bus driver. He was a member of Chalkhead Baptist Church where he was a Deacon for many years. Mr. Carroll enjoyed RVing, camping, hiking, and watching wrestling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Louise Gilmer Carroll; and one brother, Max Carroll Blair.
Survivors include his wife, Eudora Cutchen Sanders Carroll of Ewell;
five daughters and three sons-in-law, Mary Katheryn Barnes of Monroe, Georgia , Donna Yvonne and Gary Maddox of Ozark, Debra Ellen Carroll and Marshall Priest of Atlanta, Georgia, Kristy Louise and Terry Lowery of Thomaston, Georgia, and Carolyn Monk of Ozark;
one son, Ronny Sanders of Ozark;
twelve grandchildren, Brian (Sherry) Petty, Paul (Karen) Barnes, Amanda Wilde, Jason Bartley, Alec Sanders, Trent Sanders, Hazan (Deidre) Monk, Malana (Jimbo) Hatcher, Stamler (Mitchi) Monk, Kliss (Dale) Monk, Sloan Monk, and Chala Monk;
ten great grandchildren, Dustin Petty, Samantha Urhan, Peyton New, Tessa Barnes, Kayla Watson, Kyle Watson, Gavin Monk, Shaman Hatcher, Sydney Monk, and Liam Monk.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Chalkhead Baptist Church Building Fund, 495 County Road 35, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
