Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL


 


Mr. Thomas Edmond “Ed” Adkison, 92, of Ozark, died Saturday, November 19, 2016, in a local hospital.


Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, November 22, 2016, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Greg Doss and Reverend Randy Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Tuesday from 1:00 P. M. until service time.


Mr. Adkison was born May 27, 1924 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late George Washington Adkison and Phoebe Melissa Cody Adkison.  He worked with the Dale County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator for twenty-three years until his retirement.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mandy Byrd, Cleo Forehand, and Bertha Mae Jordan; five brothers, Talmadge Adkison, Doug Adkison, Clifford Adkison, Obelene Adkison, and John William Adkison.


Survivors include one son, Hilton Royce Adkison of Defuniak Springs, Florida; his foster brother, Lewie Dunn of Ozark. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 5320 County Road 15, Ozark, Alabama  36360.
