Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL
Mr. Tony Jerel Hatcher, 68, of Enterprise, died Saturday Morning, August 27, 2016, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Monday, August 29, 2016, from Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Steve King officiating. Interment will follow in Ariton Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at Ozark Baptist Church Monday morning from 9:30 A. M. until service time.
Mr. Hatcher was born January 13, 1948 to the late Thomas Edward Hatcher and Marjorie Cross Hatcher. Tony graduated from Georgia Tech in 1970. He was married for 28 years to Linda Margaret Hatcher and they had four children together. Linda passed away in 1999. He was an active member and Elder at First Presbyterian Church in Augusta, Georgia and in Panama City, Florida until moving away in 1999. He married Charlotte Paulk Hatcher in 2000. They retired and moved to Ariton in 2008, where they enjoyed farming, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He was an active member of Ozark Baptist Church where he served in the senior ministry, on hospitality committee, and enjoyed bible studies and discussions with others. He worked in the concrete industry for 40 years until he retired from Pensacola Ready Mix USA in 2009. Tony loved God, his family, his farm, and to entertain and be with people. He loved sharing his home with others. He used every possible opportunity to share his faith with others. He had a serving and generous heart and it was always his hope that others saw the light of Christ in him.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Paulk Hatcher; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Robin Hatcher; three daughters and sons-in-law, Katie and Beau Benoit, Emily and Jeff Ontiveros, Mary Grace and Michael White; one stepson, Troy Taylor; one stepdaughter, Leann and Jim Perry; grandchildren, Avery, Carson, Ryan, Grady, Anna Cross, Addison, Emma, Georgia Grace, and Meredith.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Ozark Baptist Church, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
