OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK ~ 334‑774‑5348 --- Mr. Wilmer Merrill Wolf, age 76, of Ozark, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A. M. Thursday, April 10, 2014, from St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Ozark with Reverend Frederick Boni officiating. Interment will follow with full Military Honors in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Mr. Wolf was born April 24, 1937 in Altoona, PA, to the late Wilmer Joseph Wolf and Gertrude Inez Lane Wolf. He served in the United States Marine Corps for three years and twenty-one years in the United States Army, including two tours in Viet Nam. Following his military service, he worked for Fort Rucker aircraft maintenance contractors as an A&P Mechanic for another sixteen years. Chinooks were his favorites. Mr. Wolf was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Ozark and a member of the Luke E. Hart Council of the Knights of Columbus in Daleville. He was also a 4th degree member of the Joseph E. Binker Assembly. Over the years, he and his family enjoyed camping. He expecially enjoyed being outdoors, busy in his yard or tinkering with his truck. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Jayne Skipper, Marlene Batkiewicz, and Marie Wolf; Survivors include his wife Judith Lee Kyle Wolf of Ozark; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Steven Robert Wolf of Ozark, David Merrill and Kathryn Wolf of Rockmart, Georgia; one sister, Sandra McArthur of Bellefonte, PA; two brothers, Douglas McArthur of Canonsburg, PA, and James McArthur of Washington, PA; grandchildren, Christina and Christopher Cline of Manassas Park, VA, Amanda and Richard Wolf of Sterling, VA, Sarah Wolf of Rockmart, Georgia; great grandchildren, Tyler and Brooke Cline of Manassas Park, VA. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, P. O. Box 1008, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
