OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK ~ 334‑774‑5348
Mrs. Betty Jo Johns Rogers, 71, of the Mabson Community of Ozark, died Sunday, January 10, 2016, at her home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, January 13, 2016, from Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Charles Melvin and Reverend Dr. Billy D. Gaither officiating. Interment will follow in Mabson Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.
Mrs. Rogers was born March 20, 1944, in Ozark, Alabama to the late Charlie Clayborn Johns and Lummie Lou Davis Johns. She had worked as a caregiver for several years with various people in and around Ozark. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the Quilting Group at Bethel. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Machis Indian Tribe where she took a very active roll. She loved to watch her grandsons play baseball where ever they were playing. She also enjoyed working with arts and crafts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Morris, Shirley Spurlock, and Gladys Elizabeth Herring; three brothers, Max Johns, Ross Johns, and Ryan Johns.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Billy Rogers; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Blakely and Lesa Rogers, Bruce Rogers, all of the Mabson Community; grandchildren, Joshua (Angel) Rogers, and Jonathan Rogers; sisters, Pat Johnson of Tampa, Florida, Dorothy Johnson of Skipperville, Charlene Roberts of Albany, Georgia, and Dale Spivey of Ozark; one brother, John Johns of the Mabson Community of Ozark.
