Mrs. Betty Lou Peterman Blocker, age 85, of Ozark, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Columbia. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, July 25, 2013, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Jim Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends Thursday at the funeral home from 9:30 A. M. until service time. Mrs. Blocker was born March 25, 1928 in Dale County to the late Jim Joe Peterman and Lillie Mae Chandler Peterman.  She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and had worked as manager of the Mixon School Lunchroom for many years.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Harry Blocker; one sister, Nellie Laseter; one brother, Fred Peterman; and two grandchildren, Lauren Austin and Neal Burt, III.  Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Rickey Austin of Ozark, Sandra and Mark Lovett of Columbia, Lana and Neal Burt of Prattville; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Martha Hansen, Ann Hazen, Peggy and Charlie Trawick all of Taylor;  three brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Judy Peterman, Harvey and Barbara Peterman, Harold and Hazel Peterman all of Taylor; sister-in-law, Sara Blocker of Geneva; five grandchildren, Angela Ferguson, Matthew Lovett, Michael Lovett, Molly Burt, and Lara Burt;   one great grandchild, Kaden Sorrells.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
