Mrs. Dorothy Watson Cook, 87, of Skipperville, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012, in Flowers Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Friday, October 5, 2012, from Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Billy D. Gaither officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 P.M. until service time.
Mrs. Cook was born June 25, 1925, in Dale County to the late Ivey G. Watson and Ollie V. Morris Watson. She was a homemaker for many years until joining her husband as custodians at G. W. Long School until they retired. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Martin Cook; two daughters, Dorothy Marie Cook and Shirley Ann Cook; one son, James Douglas Cook; two sisters, Margaret Corbin and Lyvone Barnes; and one brother, Haywood Watson.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Gilbert “Don” and Linda Cook of Dothan, Tommy Ray and Kathy Cook of Skipperville;
daughter-in-law, Clara Mizell Cook of Skipperville;
two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jan Mansfield (Sam) of Dothan, Eunice Hall of Abbeville; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert Watson (Cathy) of Ozark;
sister-in-law, Doris Pruitt of Perry, Florida;
three grandchildren, David Cook, Jamie Cook, and Andrew Cook.
Five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
