Mrs. Dorothy Morgan Young, age 99, of Dothan, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, in Graceville, Florida. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Friday, May 24, 2013, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with her niece, Mrs. Dottie Jeffries, officiating. Interment will follow in Morningview Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Friday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 A. M. until service time. Mrs. Young was born December 22, 1913 in Ozark to the late Henry Oscar Morgan and Ollie Worrell Morgan. She graduated from Ozark High School in 1931 and from Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia. She married her late husband Charles Young and they moved to Birmingham in 1941. Mrs. Young worked with the United States Treasury Department in the Bond Department prior to and during World War II. In 1959 she began working with the United States Secret Service. She moved to Dothan in 1991 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dothan. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Mae Witt and Burette Mixon; one brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Elise Morgan; one great nephew, Charles Morgan; one nephew by marriage, Bill Marley. Survivors include four nieces, Dottie (Don) Jeffries of Versailles, KY, Nancy (Byrne) Stewart of Houston, TX, Rosemary (A. J.) Blankenship of Mt. Gilead, NC, and Vicki Morgan Marley of Pottstown, PA; one nephew, David and Ginny Morgan of Niceville, FL; one Godchild, Susan Hickman of Birmingham. Many great nieces and nephews also survive.
