OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK ~ 334‑774‑5348
Mrs. Geraldine Thomas Mobley Hayes, of Ozark, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, in Flowers Hospital. She was 73 years old.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Monday, March 7, 2016, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Wayne Williams and Pastor Greg Doss officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Brundidge, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P. M.
Mrs. Hayes was born October 8, 1942 in Barbour County, Alabama to the late Bernice and Emma Lee Thomas. She retired from Mobile Gas Company in 2002 before moving to Ozark and marrying Fred Hayes. She loved to sing gospel music, sew for needy children, and volunteer at Dale Baptist Ministry Center. She attended Holmes Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Leroy Mobley.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Hayes; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angelia and Lindsey Sheffield, Misty and Brian Henderson; one son, Derek Mobley; stepchildren, Debbie and Wayne Phillips, Dewayne Hayes, Connie Sexton, Don and Jeannie Hayes; grandchildren, Matthew Sheffield, Mary Beth Sheffield, Rebekah Henderson, Kirsten Henderson, Sophie Mobley, Melanie Bolling, Michael Smith, Jackson Hayes, Emily Hayes, and Katie Hayes; two great grandchildren; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine and Bert DuBose, Jo and Billy Windham, Gloria and Wayne Armstrong, and Diane and Bobby Griffin. Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
