OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK ~ 334‑774‑5348
Mrs. Imogene Richardson Weed, of Ariton, died Wednesday evening, May 11, 2016, at her home. She was 90 years old.
A memorial service for Mrs. Weed will be held 2:00 P. M. Sunday, May 15, 2016, in the chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Bill Weed officiating, Holman Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home in Ozark from 1:00 P. M. until service time.
Imogene Richardson Weed was born Nov. 15, 1925 to Henry Richardson and Eunola Peacock Richardson. She was raised in Kinsey and moved to Panama City to work as a welder at the Wainwright Ship Yard during WWII. She took her savings and put herself through Cosmetology School in Jacksonville, Florida. She returned to Panama City and worked as a hairdresser until she married her late husband, Luther F.Weed of Ariton. They both enjoyed a long travelling career with the Air Force and retired in 1971 to Ariton. They were active in square dancing, traveling and the several area bridge clubs.
She is survived by her children; Dexter Weed (Cindi Lindsay) of Daytona Beach, Dana Weed (Rachel) of Santa Rosa Beach, Denise Reyes of Ozark and granddaughter Megan Reyes Hobson (Shan) of Jacksonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Universalist Cemetery Fund, C/O Mr. Earl Thompson, 7147 Hwy 51, Ariton, Alabama 36311.
