Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL
Mrs. Joan Beverett Hughes, 64, of Ozark, died Friday, October 13, 2017, at her home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, October 17, 2017, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Bobby Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church Cemetery in Dothan, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Monday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.
Mrs. Hughes was born September 3, 1953, in Columbus, Georgia to the late Perry Pascal Beverett and Betty Jo Napier Beverett. She graduated from Cottonwood High School, attended Wallace Community College, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Troy University, Summa Cum Laude. She worked with Circle Insurance in Ozark for twenty years. Joan loved her husband and her cat, Pearl. She enjoyed reading her Bible and anything she could get her hands on, and shooting guns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Pat Beverett.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Johnny Hughes of Ozark; one sister and brother-in-law, Susan Joy and David Mosley; one niece, Laurie Peeler; two great nephews, Jesse Force and Jared Force all of Boaz, Alabama; two special aunts, Wanda Dollar and Margie Mathis both of Dothan.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Kindred Hospice for their loving care of Mrs. Hughes.
