Mrs. Kathryn Elizabeth “Kay” Easterling Knight, 71, of Blue Springs, Alabama, died Friday, November 11, 2016, in Pell City.



Funeral services for Mrs. Knight will be held 11:00 A. M. Monday, November 14, 2016, at Springhill Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Cox officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time Monday in the church.



Mrs. Knight was born July 21, 1945 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late James Talmadge Easterling and Kathryn Pullen Easterling. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church.  Mrs. Knight worked and retired as a loan officer with People’s Bank in Clio. Her life-long desire to become a wife and mother far exceeded any desire for professional gains.  She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Grover Neal “Buddy” Knight; her daughter, Kara Knight Evans; and a special nephew, Cary Hart.



Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Laralee and Barry Pennington of Childersburg, Alabama; two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Jody Knight of Blue Springs, Jimmy and Michell Knight of Clio; her son-in-law, Mike and Sharon Evans of Skipperville; one sister, Jane Weaver of Cottondale; one sister-in-law, Anita Helms of Blue Springs; grandchildren, Drew Knight, Amanda Evans, Tommy Knight, Kimberly Evans, Lane Pennington, Theresa Phillips, Austin Knight, Cody Dawkins, Cole Dawkins, and Caleb Dawkins; great grandchildren, Max Dawkins, Eli Knight, Brooklyn Knight, and Aurora Friske.



The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Vincent - St. Clair Hospital and Lakeside Hospice in Pell City, Alabama.
