OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mrs. Lillian Stuckey Whatley, 82, of the Bertha Community, died Sunday, February 1, 2015.


Funeral services will be 1:30 P. M. Wednesday, February 4, 2015, from New Hope Baptist Church in the Bertha Community with Reverend Dan Sheppard and Reverend Shane Traylor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Tuesday from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M.


Mrs. Whatley was born March 30, 1932 in Dale County to the late Hollie Vaden Stuckey and Foye Phillips Stuckey.  She lived in the Skipperville and Bertha Community and in Headland for over eighteen years prior to moving back to the Bertha Community.  Mrs. Whatley worked with Wex Tex for thirteen years and retired from West Point Stevens.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Leon Whatley; sisters and brothers, Grady Walton Stuckey, Mildred Stuckey Grantham, Mabel Stuckey Payne, Lucille Stuckey Casey, Verna Lee Stuckey Aman, Hollie Ray Stuckey, and Reynolds (Bo) Stuckey.


Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Frances Stuckey Rhodes and Joe E. Rhodes of the Bertha Community; and several nieces and nephews.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Mr. Bill Grantham, 826 County  Road 7, Newville, Alabama  36353.
