OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


     Mrs. Louetta Caroline Head, 90 years 16 days, of Raymond, MS and formerly Ozark, AL, went peacefully to meet her Lord and loved ones at Baptist Hospital, Jackson, MS on December 16, 2014.


     Funeral services will be 9:30 A.M. Saturday, December 20, 2014, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Steve King officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday afternoon from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M.









     Louetta was born November 30, 1924 in Gettysburg, SD to John E. and Esther (Johnson)



Moore. She attended all 12 years and graduated in 1942 from Gettysburg High School.



She was bookkeeper for her dad’s hardware store all through high school. She worked



in the defense plant in San Diego, CA, where she met her future husband, Curt Head,



at a mutual friend’s home when he was on leave from the Navy, having been at Pearl



Harbor when it was attacked on December 7, 1941. They were married September 10, 1942



and made their home in Ozark, AL until two and a half years ago when they moved to



Mississippi to be near their daughter, Carolyn Jean, and husband, Ed Buchanan, living at



Riggs Manor in Raymond, MS.



      Louetta was a devoted Christian. She loved her family very much. She was an avid flower



bed caretaker. She was a fabulous hostess at meals and gatherings. She also enjoyed



feeding the fish, birds, deer, and wild turkeys on their farm in Ozark, AL.



      Survivors include their two daughters, Carolyn Jean and her husband Ed Buchanan,



Clinton, MS, and Barbara Ann and her husband, Larry Nafziger, Milton-Freewater, OR;



her sister, Marlyn Murphy, Sturgis, SD; her brother, Tom, and his wife, Kathy Moore,



Mesa, AZ; her grandson, Eddie Buchanan, Canton, MS; grandson, Randy Nafziger



and his wife Beth Ann, as well as their children Mark, Catherine, Evelyn and Michael,



of Bakersviile, CA; granddaughter, Renee  and her husband Jason Polchinski, in Germany;



her granddaughter, Laura Buchanan, Clinton, MS, her great-grandsons, Jordan, Toby, and



Brendan Buchanan, Clinton, MS; her sister-in-laws, Jeanette Carr, Ozark, AL, Ardella Head,



Fairfax, VA, and Charlotte Head Wyatt, Mobile, AL; and a host of friends, cousins, nieces,



and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Curt Head, two years ago



in January; parents; Johnny and Ester Moore, Gettysburg SD; brother, John Moore of Las



Vegas, NV; grandsons, Ashley Curt Buchanan and Ronnie Nafziger.



 



     In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Teen Challenge, Mercy House, P.O. Box 266,



Georgetown, MS 39078; or  to The Salvation Army, P. O. Box 490, Ozark, AL  36361 .



     Many thanks to all of the caregivers at Baptist Long Term Care Hospital for all of the loving



care they gave to Louetta. Thanks to Riggs Manor residents and staff for providing a



wonderful place for her to live.
