Mrs. Louise Andrews Etheredge, 89, of Ozark, died Saturday, September 10, 2016, following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Monday, September 12, 2016, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dave Rhodes and Reverend Kenneth Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark from 9:30 A. M. until service time Monday morning.
Mrs. Etheredge was born, June 28, 1927, to the late Porter Wyatt and Annie Myrle Peters Andrews and was the oldest of 13 children. She was married to Claude Etheredge for 59 years until his death in 2004. Mrs. Etheredge gave her life to Christ and was baptized at Ozark Baptist Church when she was 18 years old, she and her husband were very active members of Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Ozark, and recently moved her membership back to Ozark Baptist Church. She and her identical twin sister attended school in Newton Alabama and worked together at Brown's Pharmacy during their High School days. Mrs. Etheredge worked at Holland's Dress Shop and Dowling Department Store in Ozark and Hatcher's Department Store in Hartford. Louise and Claude enjoyed working together in their vegetable garden and in their beautiful flower garden. Louise and Claude’s home was given the first Ozark Beautification Award and their flower garden was also featured in the first Ozark-Dothan area Botanical Garden tour. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Eloise Ware and Nell Valentine; five brothers, Harold, Jimmy, Johnny, Rex and Jackie Andrews.
Survivors include, three daughters and three sons-in-law, Sandra and Greg Pritchett, Ozark, Gayle and Richard Pereira, Roswell, Georgia, and Carolyn Cox, Mountain Brook; two sisters, Fay Blackmon, Ozark, and Betty Wendling of Montgomery; three brothers, Kenneth Andrews, Donnie Andrews, Bobby Andrews. Seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.
