OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK ~ 334‑774‑5348


Mrs. Louise Goodson Grant, 81, of Ozark, died Thursday, September 13, 2012, in Flowers Hospital.


Funeral services will be 3:00 P. M. Sunday, September 16, 2012, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Dennis Tew officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home from 1:00 P. M. until service time.


Mrs. Grant was born January 1, 1931 in Dale County to the late Macon Berry Goodson and Essie Davis Goodson.  She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.  She and her late husband were the managers of The Dairy King in Ozark and Lamar’s Restaurant for several years when they were first open for business. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Grant.


Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Michael Gooden of Opp, Debra and George Scarbrough of  Wicksburg;


two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Dominic Cuti of Norco, Louisiana and Voncile and Tom Pelnarsch of Hickory Hills, Illinois;


one brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Anita Goodson of Ozark


two grandchildren; Stan Gooden and his wife, Garian of Andalusia, Doug Gooden and his wife, Anna of Troy.


Seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
