OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK ~ 334‑774‑5348
Mrs. Margaret Strickland Dean, 88, of Ozark, died Saturday morning, June 6, 2015, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Monday, June 8, 2015, in Asbury United Methodist Church with Reverend Ken Spivey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Monday at the church from 12:30 P. M. until service time.
Mrs. Dean was born February 26, 1927 in Skipperville, Alabama to the late Albert N. and Ruby Hughes Strickland. She was a graduate of Dale County High School in Ozark. She worked for many years with the United States Army Safety Center at Fort Rucker. Mrs. Dean was a life-long member of Asbury United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Malcolm Dean in 2005.
Survivors include one daughter, Cathy Dean Tharp and her husband, Allen of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sons, Stanton Dean of Wetumpka, Alabama, and Tommy Dean and his wife, Marilyn of Ozark; four grandchildren, Mandy (Matt) Roe, Albert Dean, Jonathan (Ginger) Dean, and Margaret Tharp; three great grandchildren, Mary Grace Roe, Mason Roe, and Ella Dean; a sister Mary S. Snell of Asbury.
The family expresses their gratitude for the loving care given by the staff at Ozark Health and Rehabilitation and Providence Home Assisted Living.
