OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK

Mrs. Merle Parr McLendon, age 87, of Ozark, died November 30, 2012, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center.


Funeral services will be 11:30 A. M. Tuesday, December 4, 2012, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00 A. M. until service time.


Mrs. McLendon was born April 5, 1925 in Baker County, Georgia to the late Doster Patt Parr and Lula Bell Harris Parr.  She worked with Dale County Hospital as the Director of Housekeeping until her retirement. Mrs. McLendon was an active member of Post Oak Baptist Church. She was also active in the Seniors Social Group until she moved to Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of the Eastern Star.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Earl “Mac” McLendon; three sisters, Lula Mae Moody, Mary Frances Free, and Evelyn Eubanks; and one brother, Lawrence Parr.


Survivors include one daughter, Linda Ellen Mauser and her husband, Ken, Parrish, Florida;


one son, W. E. McLendon, Jr. of Ozark;


two grandsons, Brett Mauser and his wife, Jennifer, and Shawn Mauser and his wife, Arleen;  one granddaughter, Kimberly Bell;


four great grandchildren, Jacob, Oliver and Emma Mauser, and Jamie Bell Thatcher;


one great-great granddaughter, Savannah Leigh Jordan.
