OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK ~ 334‑774‑5348
Mrs. Mildred Windham McLendon, age 82, of Ozark, died Friday evening, July 11, 2014, at her home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Matthew Wright officiating. Private interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 9:30 A. M. until service time.
Mrs. McLendon was born December 20, 1931, in Dale County to the late Otis Windham and Mattie Bell Powell Windham. She worked as a supervisor with White Knight Mfg., Judy Bond Mfg., and the Van Heusen Corp. in Ozark until her retirement. Following her retirement, she worked as a caregiver and loved working in her yard. She was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. McLendon; and one brother, Looney Windham.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Judy Leslie of Nashville, TN and Shirley and Jeff Wilkinson of Palm City, FL; one son, James S. McLendon of Flint, MI; one grandson, Christopher Leslie of Waterloo, IA; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Malcolm Windham of Abbeville, Billy and Jo Windham of Ariton, Earl and Jennette Windham of Phenix City, Phillip and Gayle Windham of Sardis, GA; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sandy and Rick Rathgen of Ellijay, GA, Virginia and Tom Turner of Ocean Springs, MS, Margaret Chancey of Ozark, Bobbie Miller of Cartersville, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
