OCIE CHANDLER BLAKEY
MIDLAND CITY. . .Ocie Beasley Chandler Blakey, a resident of Midland City, died Wednesday morning, April 9, 2014, at her home. She was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M Friday, April 11, 2014, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend T. P. Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Midland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Alacare Hospice, 3379 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36305.
Mrs. Blakey was born and reared in the Rocky Head community, near Ariton, daughter of the late Francis Seymour Beasley and Lillie Leola Condrey Beasley. She lived in the Midland City area most of her lifetime. Mrs. Blakey attended the Faith Tabernacle Community Church in Dothan. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Preston Chandler, J. C. Dillard, and William O. (Bill) Blakey; a son, Jeffery James Chandler, and a daughter, Betty Jean Blankeship, four sisters, and four brothers.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Ouida Key (Steve), Ruby Tedder, and Lorene Barrett, all of Midland City; three sons, Preston Chandler (Bonnie), Pansey, AL; Cody Chandler (Cosette), Malvern, AL; and Wesley Dillard (Debra), Headland; a brother, James Beasley, Ozark; eighteen grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Chad Baker, Kent Rogers, Jason Rogers, Shane Rogers, Stormy Rogers, Jeff Chandler, Keith Chandler, Jonathan Chandler, Toby Chandler, Andrew Barron, Tyler Rogers, and Trevor Rogers.
