OLA CLYDE GARRICK
YOUNGSTOWN, FLORIDA. . .Ola Clyde Hughes Johnson Garrick, a resident of Youngstown, Florida, died Wednesday morning, October 26, 2011, in the GlenCove Nursing Pavilion in Panama City. She was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, October 29, 2011, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel, Headland, Alabama, with Reverend Rick Glenn officiating. Burial will follow in the Sylvan Grove Methodist Cemetery, near Midland City, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A. M. Saturday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Mrs. Garrick was a native of Cottonwood, Alabama but was reared in the Sylvan Grove Community of Dale County, Alabama, daughter of the late Travis Hughes and Ida Lee Martin Hughes. She had lived in Youngstown, Florida since 1962 where she was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Mrs. Garrick was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leslie Byrd Johnson and Martin C. Garrick and two brothers, W. C. Hughes and Howard Hughes.
Surviving relatives include a step-son, Martin Earl Garrick and wife, Cynthia, Panama City; three sisters, Frances McCord, Lakeland, FL; Sara Nell Hughes and husband, Frank Harrell, Auburndale, FL; and Margie Ann Stewart and husband, Wesley, Winter Haven, FL; four brothers, Herbert Hughes and wife, Katie, J. L. Hughes and wife, Carlene, Joe Hughes and wife, Roslyn, all of Dothan; Benny Ray Hughes and wife, Shirley, Auburndale, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Morris Bishop, Larry Johnson, James Trawick, Bob Marshall, Eddie Carl Holmes and Mack Teate.
