Ollie Gainey Taylor, age 102, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23, 2017.


 She was born July 19, 1914, in Washington County, Florida. She moved to Panama City, Fl. in 1941 and lived there 59 years. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church.


 She was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Lee Taylor, Sr., her son, Morgan Lee Taylor, Jr., her granddaughter, Debbie Ragan Heffner, sisters, Elvie Yates, Oma Owen, Evelyn Sellers, Genell Jay, Jean Nelson, Frances Kirkland, Exa Bush, one brother, Tillman Gainey, her son-in-law, Jack Ragan and several nieces and nephews.


 She is survived by her daughter, Glenda F. Ragan, granddaughter, Pamela Taylor Gottlieb (Jack), two grandsons, Johnny H. Ragan (Allison), Morgan Lee Taylor III (Mitzy), son-in-law Robert P. Heffner, 8 great-grandchildren, Curtis Gottlieb, Megan Taylor, Kevin Gottlieb, Meredith Taylor, Jacob Heffner, Justin Ragan, Heidi Heffner and Jordan Ragan. She is also survived by two sisters-in-laws, Lunell Docchio and Mervell Taylor, and nieces and nephews.


 Ollie loved to cook, shell peas, fix corn for the freezer, shell pecans and work in her flower beds. She had a green thumb. She was a wonderful mother and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed. Ollie moved to Dothan in January 2000 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She was a member of the Cloverdale United Methodist Church, The Mae Dee Dobbs Ladies Circle and also participated in the craft group at the church. Special love and appreciation go out to Dr. Barton of Central Baptist Church and her Sunday School Class for staying in contact with her for all these years. The Cloverdale United Methodist Church for all their love and support and all the pastors that have visited her over the years. She loved each one of you.  She loved to go to church, go up to Ray’s Restaurant with the family and go out to eat with her Sunday Lunch Bunch and you better not schedule anything for Friday AM, she had to go have her hair done. She was a wonderful mother and friend. She always attended her Gainey family reunion in Chipley and the Taylor family reunion in Wausau, FL.


 Funeral services will be held at Ward Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. with Dr. Sam Parkes officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 10-10:30 A.M.


 Burial and graveside services will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery on Hwy. 231 in Panama City, FL at 3 P.M.
