Oscar Carlton Speigner, age 78, of Enterprise, AL, passed away, Monday, April 3, 2017 in Medical Center Enterprise.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 6, 2017 at County Line Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 12:00 P.M., Thursday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to County Line Baptist Church Building Fund, 1000 Hwy. 92, Enterprise, AL 36330.
Carlton worked at Alfab for 43 years, retiring as president in 2014. He retired as a LT Col from the Army National Guard in 1992 after serving 36 years. He loved both jobs, never missed a day of work without just cause. His Army career was as important to him as his job at Alfab…he loved every minute of it.
He was a lifelong member of County Line Baptist Church and served as Church Treasurer for many years. He was a former Deacon and Training Union Teacher. He attended Auburn University, was a former member of Rotary Club (Paul Harris Fellow) for several years and served on the board of Enterprise Housing Authority.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Oscar and Ruth Harden Speigner, infant brother, James Joseph Speigner and brother, Charles Wayne Speigner.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Gail Griffin Speigner, Enterprise; two daughters, Robyn Speigner, Enterprise; Lee Speigner Blount (Zach) Milledgeville, GA; two brothers, David Speigner (Trudy) Panama City Beach, FL; Danny Speigner (Becky) Auburn, AL; four grandchildren, Katie Blount, Jackson Blount, Abby Blount and Andy Blount, Milledgeville, GA.
