OTHA JOHNSON

NEWVILLE… Otha Johnson, a resident of the Newville, Alabama, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, at her home. She was 86.

          Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Mt. Olive Church Cemetery – Newville, Alabama with Reverend H.R. Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M. Wednesday January 31, 2024 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

          Mrs. Johnson was born in Henry County, Alabama to the late Leroy Swain, Sr. and Bertha Williams Swain. She lived her entire life in the Newville and Henry County, Alabama area. She dedicated her whole life to the love for her family. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church -Newville, Alabama.

          Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Mack Lee Johnson and her four brothers.

          Leaving to cherish her memories are children, Gloria Williams (James), Barbara Green, Bonnie Saulsberry (Gene), Rosemary Goodson, Willie Mack Johnson, Bertha Warren (James), Betty Warren, Linda Chitty (Joey), Kevin Johnson, and Michelle Johnson; her sisters, Minnie Wright and Delia Swain; her sisters-in-law, Queen Jackson and Martha Newsome; her thirteen grandchildren; her 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of her nieces, nephews, and cousins.

          Serving as active pallbearers will be her sons-in-law and grandsons.
