Otis Lee White, a resident of Headland, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020 in a local hospital. He was 67 years old.
Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Pastor Norman Fryer officiating.
Mr. White was born on May 3, 1953 in Midland City to O. C. and Fannie White, and lived in Headland, AL the early years of his life. He was a 1972 graduate of Headland High School. Mr. White moved to Deland, Florida and worked with the City of Deland before moving back to Alabama in 1991. He worked with Golden Peanut in Headland for 28 years before he retired in 2017. Otis’s love and passion for his children, grandchildren, family, and friends only rivaled his zest for fishing, singing, and conversation. Mr. White was a faithful member of Greater Shiloh Baptist Church in Headland, AL where he sang in the Men’s Choir.
Otis was preceded in death by his father, O. C. White, his mother, Fannie (Franklin) White, his first wife, Betty Jean Ward-White, his second wife, Josephine R. White, his brothers, Victor A. White, Orie Lee White, and Willie J. White, Sr., his sisters, Julia Jackson and Terria L. Rhodes, and one grandchild, Mircale White.
He leaves to cherish his memories his sons, Michael (Labresha) White, Sr. and Lee Anthony (Jada) Ward; his eight grandchildren, Andrea, Mircale, Amari, Aniyah, Kaleb, Jonas, Calle, and Michael, Jr.; his God-children, DeChristin Newton and Shaniyah Waters; his two brothers, Johnny C. (Patricia) White and Norman (Debra) White; his two sisters, Osie Rogers and Bernice Kelley; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends, Norman Fryer and Audrey Johnson.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Derrick Turner, Charlie Allen, Spencer Jackson, Lee Ward, Michael White, and Trayson Allen.
