OUIDA WHIDDON BRADSHAW
HEADLAND…Ouida Whiddon Bradshaw, a former resident of Headland, died early Wednesday morning, July 9, 2014, in the Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation Center in Dothan. She was 88.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 11, 2014, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Friday at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Burdeshaw-Solomon Senior Center, 107 Boynton Street, Headland, AL 36345, or to the “Bridge To Tomorrow” Building Fund of the First Baptist Church of Headland, 301 East Church Street, Headland, AL 36345.
Mrs. Bradshaw was born in Newville, daughter of the late Cratus Coleman Whiddon and Agnes Bradshaw Whiddon. She moved with her family to Headland as a teenager where she lived all her adult lifetime. Mrs. Bradshaw was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Headland and its Joy Sunday School Class. In earlier years, she was an active participant in the Burdeshaw-Solomon Senior Center. Mrs. Bradshaw and her late husband owned and operated Randy’s Dry Goods in Headland until their retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph William (Randy) Bradshaw, a daughter, Patricia Bradshaw (Patsy) Willingham, a grandson, Patrick Barron Willingham, and a brother, Billy J. Whiddon.
Mrs. Bradshaw loved the Lord, her church, her family and friends. She was always ready to serve in any capacity. Mrs. Bradshaw was soft spoken, always cheerful, and a pleasure to be around.
Surviving relatives include a grandson, James Randall (Chip) Willingham (Vonda), Poplar Springs, AL; a brother, Benny Whiddon (Shirley), a sister-in-law, Collyne Whiddon, all of Headland; nieces, Allison Whiddon, Birmingham; Leigh Vincent (Vincent), Dothan; a great-nephew, Will Vincent.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation Center, and especially Libby Barnes and Angela Turner, for the loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Bradshaw during her illness.
