Pal “Joe” Hollos had his welcome home party in heaven on Tuesday, June 18,2019 and arrived at 8:02PM. He was a little late waiting on the love of his life to finish getting ready to see him for the first time in 10 long awaited years.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, June 22, 2019 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tim Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9-10 am.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Janet Hollos, treasured baby daughter Margaret Irene Hollos, father Ferene Hollos and mother Irene Hoffer Hollos.
Survivors include his beloved son Joey Hollos (Tammi), grandsons Hunter and Matthew, special niece Jane Buxton (John), Steve and Linda Williams, several beloved nieces, nephews, and in laws as well as dearly loved extended family in Hungary.
He was born in Hungary and joined the United States Army from a refugee camp in Italy. He gained his American naturalization status and bravely served the United States in the Vietnam War. After discharge from the military he settled in the Wiregrass area with his beloved Janet. Joe was a soccer referee for many years and traveled throughout the area officiating many soccer games. He loved dancing of all types and was a member of a local dancing group while living in Dothan. His group often traveled to area nursing homes to provide entertainment for the residents.
