Pamela Jo Smith

Pamela Jo Smith, age 62, of Dothan, AL and a Virginia native, went to be with her Lord Sunday, June 24, 2012.

Visitation will be at Byrd Funeral Home, 3409 W. Main St., Wednesday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and again on Thursday morning from 9:30AM-10:15AM. Services will begin at 10:30AM with Pastor Bradley Rushing and Pastor Phillip Staton conducting services. Interment will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery, 52 West/Hartford Hwy with Byrd Funeral Home directing.

Pamela was born in Radford, Virginia December 5, 1949. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

Her life was a dedication to her family, friends and care of her beloved cats. Her life’s joy as a Cosmetologist spanned 35 years and included owning her own business, trainer and instructor. She retired from JC Penney after 20 years of dedicated service. Her many talents included doll making, creating beautiful jewelry and cross stitching.

She was the beloved wife of 43 years of Roger Smith of Dothan, AL; devoted mother of Anthony Lynn Smith of Enterprise, AL and loving grandmother of Mills Brody Smith, age 8, and Jude Bridges Smith, age 6. She is also survived by her parents, Trent A. Staton and Mary Jo Staton of Vinton, VA and one brother, Pastor Phillip Staton of Randleman, NC.
