Patricia Ann Cowles of Geneva passed away at her residence on Monday, August 24, 2015.  She was 79.  A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Jake Brady officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 304 S. Academy St., Geneva, AL 36340. 


Mrs. Cowles was born in North Carolina on September 7, 1935 to the late Skeeter and Lucille Allen Smith.  She was an active member of the Geneva First United Methodist Church for many years.  She often decorated the church and loved to sing in the church choir.  Prior to her retirement Mrs. Cowles owned and operated the Flower Gallery in Geneva. Her husband, Donald West Cowles, preceded her in death. 


She is survived by three daughters, Donna Bass of Geneva; Tami Ard of Dothan and Kecia Monroe (Jack) of Quincy, FL; six grandchildren, Stephanie Smith of Savannah, GA, Tim Ard of Tallahassee, FL, Jonathan Bass of Samson, Meagan Bass of Geneva, Ainsley Taylor of Dothan, and Alexa Taylor of Tifton, GA; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Charles “Buck” Smith (Sally) of Vestavia Hills, AL.
