Patricia Ann Crowder Slaughter, 63, a resident of Dothan, passed away March 18, 2014 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center following a short illness.
A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 2 P.M. at Memory Hill Cemetery with Chaplain Jamie Danford officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, one hour before the service.
Ms. Slaughter was born November 3, 1950 in Mobile, Alabama and spent her early years in Florida, Guam, and Washington before moving with her family back to Dothan where she attended Dothan High School. She is the daughter of the late Robert Linwood Crowder and Sarah Crowder Armstrong. She was a lifelong educator beginning her career in Columbus, Georgia and retiring in Dothan. She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, Hubert Ellis and Lois B. Clark, and a sister, Cindi Crowder.
Survivors include: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Christopher and Christy Slaughter, Boulder, Colorado, Jason Slaughter, Boulder, Colorado; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Xylorose Crowder, Dothan; two nephews, Eric and Ritchie Crowder, Dothan.
Thank you to the wonderful nurses and support staff at SAMC. Words cannot express our heartfelt gratitude for your care and support or our mother. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. You were true blessings to us in our mother’s final days. We thank you all for everything.
