Patricia Coonce Robinson, a beacon of kindness and unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2024, in Slocomb, Alabama. Born in Mobile, Alabama, on November 10, 1943, Patricia's early life was filled with the warmth of Southern hospitality and the enduring strength of family. Her journey through life was marked by a heartfelt dedication to her loved ones, a passion for knowledge, and an indomitable spirit.
Patricia, affectionately known by all as Patricia, was the cherished matriarch of her family. Her love and guidance shaped the lives of her children, Charles Robinson, Jr., and Kristen Robinson. She was a proud grandmother to Lynn (Brandon) Weed and Kendra (Ehren) Faison, and great grandmother to Trenton Weed, Andrea Weed, Arya Weed, Keilen Faison, and Kodi Faison. Her brother, Chris Coonce, and sisters, Nellie Coonce and Sue Hamilton, also survive her, sharing in the rich tapestry of memories they created together. Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Glenn Robinson, Sr., her parents, Elmor and Isobel Callaway Coonce, her brother David Coonce, and her sister Linda Decker.
Patricia's educational journey began in the city of her birth, Mobile, where she attended local schools and embraced a lifelong love for learning. Her work history was as diverse as her interests; she drove a cab, worked in a warehouse, and provided comfort and care as a sitter. However, Patricia was most proud of her role as a homemaker in later years, providing a warm and loving home for her family.
Known for her love of reading, Patricia would often be found with a book in hand, delving into the worlds of Christian literature, true crime, and history. Her passion for knowledge was matched only by her love for the Atlanta Braves, whose games she never missed. Patricia was known for her steadfastness and sometimes stubborn nature, but it was these very qualities that underscored her deep and abiding love for her family.
Described as faith-filled, kind, and passionate, Patricia lived her life as an embodiment of these virtues. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges with grace and perseverance. Her kindness was felt by all who knew her, and her passion for life's simple pleasures was infectious.
Patricia's legacy is one of love, resilience, and the quiet strength that comes from an unwavering faith. Her memory will live on in the stories shared by her family, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely. As we bid farewell to Patricia Coonce Robinson, we do so with the knowledge that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, just as it did throughout her remarkable life.
