Patricia J. Ward, 69, a resident of Newton, AL passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Sylvan Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Ms. Ward was born on November 18, 1947 in Dale County, AL and lived most of her young life in Midland City and moved to Newton in 1998. She was employed with Pemco for over 35 years as a sheet metal mechanic prior to her disability retirement in 2005. She loved to watch Soap Operas, talk on the phone, and work crossword puzzles. Ms. Ward was preceded in death by her parents, William and Maggie Wilkins, and her husband Jack Ward.
Survivors include her son Ricky Ward; her daughters, Marie Senn and Crystal Ward; her grandchildren, Ashley Ward, Brettley Kaczmarczyk, Jacob Senn, and Madison Phillips; brothers, William "Buster" (Martha) Wilkins and Joe (Margie) Wilkins; sister, Katie (Tom Garrison) Simmons; brother-in-law, David Lee Ward; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; special friends, Pat Carroll and Mary McSwain.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Ward, David Lee Ward, Chris Dubose, Brettley Kaczmarczyk, Don Carroll, and Phillip Bevis.
