Patricia “Patsy” Glynn Powell, age 79, of Dothan, passed away April 2, 2014.


Born July 24, 1934, in Dothan to the late Jesse M. and Eva Weathers Powell, Ms. Powell was a retired home builder and also worked as a financial secretary for Alpha Auto Parts. During her high school years, she was said to be a member of the Trouble Club and she enjoyed planning her class reunions. Ms. Powell was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she enjoying singing in the choir and working with Church Party. She also enjoyed hosting the Powell family and friends during Christmas at her home.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, J. M. Powell, Jr. and Phillip S. Powell.


Survivors include her brother, Robert (Elene) Powell; her nephews, Jim (Lynda) Powell, Mac (Donna) Powell, Stanley (Lisa) Powell, Bob (Sallie) Powell, and Charlie Powell; her niece, Laura (Steve) Lester; other relatives and friends.


Graveside services will be Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Memory Hill Cemetery with Reverend Allie Freeman officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.


The family will accept flowers or contributions may be made to Church Party @ First United Methodist Church.
