Patricia (Patti) Ann (McCullough) Lay, 77, of Enterprise AL, passed away on Friday, October 1st, 2021 from complications due to COVID-19. Patricia was born to Lory and Rosemary McCullough, on March 5th, 1944, in Harrisburg PA. Patti was a daughter and a wife of a military family. She moved all over the world and was proud of her military background. All three of her children served in the military as well.
Patti retired as a GS-9 from her job as a secretary with the federal government. She was always very active in her church, singing in the choir and teaching vacation bible school for many years. She was a kind, caring and compassionate person who donated to numerous charitable organizations; she also volunteered with Meals on Wheels for a number of years. Most recently, Patti enjoyed spending time gardening at home with her beloved dog Ginger and volunteering her time at the J. D. Holman House, in Ozark.
Patti was predeceased by her beloved husband, Col. Robert S. Lay, Jr. (Ret.), her mother, Rosemary, her father Lory and her brother Edward.
Patti is survived by her daughter, Sherri Lay (Kenneth Bullock), Arkansas; 2 sons, Edward Lay (Buffy Murphy), Ohio, and Branden Lay (Bobbi), Florida; grandchildren, Chelsea and Kirsten Munro, Rowan Lay; great-grandchild, Payten Balch; and many brothers and sisters in law; Jimmy Lay, Kanani Pardue, Patti Clark, Lisa King, Tina Clark and Donnie Lay, all of Mississippi.
A small memorial service will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church at 10:00 AM, Saturday October 9, 2021.
