PATRICIA “PATTIE” KINDBERG


COLUMBIA, AL.…Patricia “Pattie” Kindberg, a resident of Columbia, AL, passed away Thursday night, July 2, 2020, at her home. She was 69.


            A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Tuesday July 7, 2020 at the First Baptist Church Columbia with Reverend Vann Cooley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Columbia City Cemetery. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.


            Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in Pattie’s honor to the Town of Columbia CARES or the Columbia Volunteer Fire Department, 203 South Washington Street  Columbia, Alabama 36319.


            Ms. Kindberg was born in the Fort Clayton, Panama Canal Zone, to the late James McKesson Bower and Edna Anita Tompkins Kovel, and lived her childhood and was a 1969 Graduate of Balboa High School.  She had lived in the St. Petersburg, Florida area before moving to Columbia, Alabama thirty-eight years ago. While living in Columbia, she served as the Town Clerk until her retirement. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia.


            Leaving to cherish her memories are her sons, Loyd D. Kindberg (Lora) of Greensboro, SC, and Charles E. Kindberg, Jr. of Middletown, NY; her step-mother, Margaret Bower; her sister, Donna Kay Ewers; her brother, James M. Bower III.
