MRS. PATRICIA “PAT” CORLEY GOODMAN
Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Corley Goodman, age 83, went to heaven on October 18, 2013 after a long illness. She was surrounded by her daughter, grandchildren, family friends, and personal caregivers at the time of her death.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Ward-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 2414 Hartford Highway, Dothan, Alabama. Funeral and graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, at 10 a.m. at Ward-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.
The service will be officiated by Reverend Lynn Nesbitt. The family has requested that contributions be made to: First United Methodist Church, Prayer Ministry, 1380 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301.
Pat was born on December 19, 1929, Cleveland Ohio, to Arthur and Alma Corley. She was one of seven children: Jim, Tom, JoAnne, Don, Jack, and Robert Corley.
Predeceasing Pat was her mother, Alma Corley, brother, Robert Corley, her grandson, Christopher Odierno, her father, Arthur Corley, her husband, Julius “Judd” Goodman.
Pat lived in New York for many years and her career involved years of Civil Service and Rockefellor Center. In 1965, she met and married Judd Goodman. They had one daughter, Lisa, who cared for her mother until her mother’s death.
Pat’s greatest love was her daughter, her sons, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her friends. She exemplified the love of the Lord on earth by the love she showed her family and friends. She was able to teach life’s lessons by her gift of discernment and wisdom. Pat was an avid reader, loved gardening, the beach, and Auburn football. She had an amazing sense of humor and a vibrant personality… described by friends by having a personality “as large as life.”
Survivors include daughter, Lisa Goodman of Dothan; two sons: Frank and Joe Odierno, Dothan; three grandchildren: Angila Brannon (David), Rehobeth; Joseph Odierno, Jr., Dothan; Ashley Meadows (Daniel), Greensboro, North Carolina; great grandchildren, Hunter Brannon and Mary Grace Brannon, Rehobeth; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins--also, her “very special” best friend, Helen Grase. The family would also like to thank the amazing staff of Flowers Hospital and Gentiva Home Care for their loving care. They would also like to thank her special friends and caregivers, Scarlett Scribner, Kristi Connell, and Rochelle Thompson.
Active pallbearers will be Ken Columbe, Paul Meissner, Alex Corbin, David Brannon, Hunter Brannon, Paul Battle, Bernie Feltman and Jerry Marsella.
