ABBEVILLE. . . Paul Peter Byrne, a resident of Abbeville, died Friday, October 16, 2015, at his home. He was 49.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 19, 2015, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Ray Kelly and Reverend Sam Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Abbeville, P.O. Box 549, Abbeville, AL 36310.
Paul Byrne was born in Camden, New Jersey and was reared in Abbeville. He was a graduate of Abbeville High School. Paul was a member of the Abbeville United Methodist Church where he drove the church van and participated in the children’s and youth programs. He loved music and people, his dogs “Daisy” and “Lucas” and his bird “Tweety” and enjoyed yard sales. Paul also loved football and the Abbeville Christian Academy and Abbeville High School football teams. He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Thomas Hancock.
Surviving relatives include his mother, Gisela Veith Hancock; a sister, Denise Davis (Tim), all of Abbeville; a nephew, Sam Davis (Deonne), two nieces, Nicole Davis and Brooke Davis, a great-niece and two great-nephews, Madison, Mason and Maddox Davis, and his special “Granny”, Maudie P. Davis.
