Paul Revere Davis of Chancellor, AL passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Southeast Health. He was 86 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2021 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Don Tew and Rev. Dave Hingson officiating. Burial will follow at El Bethel Baptist Church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The family kindly requests those who are planning to attend the services to please wear a facial covering and practice social distancing.
Paul was born on December 9, 1934 in Dekalb County, AL to the late George Bush and Bessie York Davis. Paul attended school in Ider, AL. He joined the US Navy in 1955 and served on the USS Kearsarge. He also served with the Military Air Transport (MAT) and was stationed at Moffitt Field, CA. Paul moved to Coffee County, AL in 1959 and was employed at Ft. Rucker as an aviation electrician. He received many accommodations for his flexibility in his duty and he worked on all the fields at Ft. Rucker. He later retired from Ft. Rucker after many years of dedicated service. Paul later moved to Geneva County, AL in 1963 where he was an active member of El Bethel Baptist Church and served in many positions with love.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many siblings.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Charlotte S. Davis of Chancellor, AL; one daughter, Rita Brown Gomez; one son, Don Davis; five grandchildren, Brandy S. Peeples (Joe), James O’Neal Brown, Brandon L. Davis (Katie), Bradford Paul Davis (Catherine), and Jeremy Brock Davis (Ashley). 12 great-grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren.
