Paula Kaye “P.K.” Murphy, a resident of Dothan passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Flowers Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 47 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of Bea and Ralph Johnson, 100 Overlook Drive, Dothan, AL 36303.

P.K. was born November 18, 1970 in Dothan and resided here most of her life. She was a 1989 graduate of Northview High School and attended Wallace College. She was employed with Swedish Match Company for several years. P.K. enjoyed reading, watching TV, and spending time with her cats. She was a member of Eastside Freewill Baptist Church and was an Alabama “Roll Tide” Football Fan.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Mack Ellen Hughes, and Hayes and Allene Murphy, and her uncle, John Chappell.

Survivors include her mother, Bea (Ralph) Johnson; half-brother, Kevin Murphy; step-brother, James (Jessica) Johnson; uncle, Ronald (Sue) Hughes; aunt, Maxine Chappell; nephews, Marcus Johnson and Kade Murphy; several great aunts and uncles, cousins, and close friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scotty Jordan, Terry Hicks, Wallace “Gator” Hughes, Stanley Chappell, Chris Spann, J.C. Spann, and Brett Crowley.
