A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home.
Paula May Moyer, a woman of remarkable spirit and unwavering determination, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on January 8, 1949, in La Porte, Indiana, to the late Larry and Jeanette Procter, Paula's life was a testament to her resilience and the love she held for her family.
Paula spent 23 fulfilling years working at American Rubber in her hometown, where her dedication and work ethic were evident to all who knew her. In 2001, she embraced change and moved to Oklahoma before finally settling in Dothan, Alabama, in 2007, where she continued to make a warm and inviting home.
Known for her strong-willed and very stubborn nature, Paula was also incredibly sweet and compassionate, traits that endeared her to many. She was a devoted homebody, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Paula's love for her mini schnauzer was immense, and she could often be found relaxing with her beloved pet by her side.
A talented card player, Paula enjoyed whiling away the hours with games of solitaire and other card challenges, which kept her mind sharp and her competitive spirit alive. Her family will fondly remember her as an amazing person whose stubbornness was matched only by her immense kindness and warmth.
Paula's legacy is cherished and carried on by her loving family, including her daughter Robyn Lucas (Roy), her grandchildren, Brian Stevens and Rania Blalock (Andy II), and her great-grandchildren Hannah Helms, Jaxson Brannon, Killian Blalock, and Freya Lucas Blalock. She also leaves behind her brother Larry Procter of Austin, Texas, along with several nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her deeply.
Though Paula is now reunited in heaven with her beloved daughter, Ronora Stevens, granddaughter Danielle Stevens, great-grandchild Hayden Brannon, parents, and siblings Ronnie Whitney, Marcia "Tammy" West, and Darlene Procter, her memory will continue to be a guiding light for those she has left behind.
Paula May Moyer's life was one of love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit that will continue to inspire her family and friends. As they move forward, they will carry her strength and love in their hearts, honoring her memory in each day that passes. Paula's journey through life was as unique as she was, and she will be remembered for the joy and steadfastness she brought to the world.
