ABBEVILLE... Pearl Whitehead Holmes Woodham, a resident of Abbeville, died Friday, October 09, 2015, in the Ft. Gaines Health & Rehab Facility, Ft. Gaines, Georgia. She was 96.
Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 11, 2015, in Abbeville Memorial Cemetery- East with Reverend Ray S. Reiley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Woodham, daughter of the late Robert Whitehead and Milbrey Stewart Whitehead, was a native of the Capps Community of Henry County. She lived in Abbeville most of her adult lifetime. Mrs. Woodham was a member of Fellowship Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Woodham, her daughter, Jeanette Holmes Barnes; a daughter-in-law, Jean Herring Holmes, four sisters, Eva Gray, Ever Sharron, Bertha Lisenby, and Mavis Wood; her brother, Churve Whitehead.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Robert Holmes and Benny Holmes, both of Abbeville; three step-sons, Lee Allen Woodham, Mack Woodham (Glenda), and Roger Woodham (Emilie); six grandchildren, Kenny Holmes, Keith Holmes (Daphne), Kent Holmes (Beth), Tim Barnes (Katie), Bo Barnes (Beth), and Marty Barnes (Jenna); four great-grandchildren, David Barnes, Justin Holmes, Aubrey Holmes, and Hadley Barnes.
Serving as active pallbearers will be grandsons.
