DOTHAN. . .Peggy Tew “Mawmee” Key, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday morning, January 9, 2019, in Wesley Place on Honeysuckle. She was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 12, 2019, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Paul Edenfield and Reverend Brad Hardy officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the D.A.V. Chapter 87, P.O Box 6863, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mrs. Key was born and reared in Barbour County, near Blue Springs, daughter of the late Cliff Foy Tew and Evie Leona Parr Tew. She moved to Dothan in 1951 where she was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church at Brannon Stand. Mrs. Key was preceded in death by her husband, James Pearson Key, a daughter, Sheila Burge, a grandson, Brent Burge, her step-mother, Inez Campbell Tew, three sisters and three brothers, a daughter-in-law, Pat Key and a son-in-law, Russell Burge.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Paula Bostic (Mike), Sharon Hutton (David Kelly), and Sonya Killingsworth (Ricky), all of Dothan; two sons, Dan Key (Kim), Midland City; and Dennis Key (Brenda), Hartford; a sister, Lois Callard, Owosso, Michigan; three brothers, Delano Tew, Owosso, Michigan; Cliff Foy Tew, Corsicana, Texas; and Rodney Tew, Ovid, Michigan; eleven grandchildren, several great and great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as active pallbearers will be the grandsons.
