Penny Hasty Holloman, 70, a resident of Dothan passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stacy Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 6867, Dothan, AL, 36302, or to the American Diabetes Association, 206 W. Troy Street, Dothan, AL, 36303.
Mrs. Holloman was born October 4, 1945 in Long Beach, CA and moved to Highpoint, NC at an early age. She graduated from Headland High School and Troy State University where she attained her degree in Psychology. She then attained her Masters and AA Certification in Elementary Education from Troy University. She was employed with Houston County High School in Columbia from 1974-1998. She was always looking to help children, whether it was special tutoring or any other need they may have. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Dothan.
Survivors include her husband Tommy Holloman; her daughters, Lori Appling Moore (Jim) and Amanda Appling Rudd (Jason); her son, Robert Edward Appling; step-children, Christopher Holloman and Emily Holloman Green (Joe); her grandchildren, Milton Moore, Harrison Rudd, and Annelise Rudd; also surviving is a host of cousins and other family members.
