PERLA LOUISE HIX MATHIS


HEADALND… Perla Louise Hix Mathis, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024, at her home. She was 70.


          A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 28, 2024, Union Free Will Baptist Church in Abbeville, Alabama, with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.


          Mrs. Mathis was born in Ft. Gaines, Georgia, to the late Earnest Earl Hix and Patsy Leona Money Hix. She lived in Henry County her whole life, with the last twenty years in Headland, Alabama. She was a 1972 graduate of Houston County High School. Perla worked with West Point Pepperell for several years. She was very active in the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a member of the Union Free Will Baptist Church in Abbeville, Alabama. 


          Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughter, Suzanne Wyrick (Keith); her sons, Chuck Faison and Jamie Faison; her brother, James Earl Hix; her grandchildren, Daisha Nicole Windsor (Dylan), Seth Faison, Cora Faison, Josie Faison, Charley Faison, Emma Grace Faison, Jonathan Craig Hughes, Madison Wyrick, and Miranda Wyrick.
