Philip Edward Herman of Hartford, Alabama passed away September 24, 2021 at the age of 40, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021 from the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Pastor Ricky Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery with military honors and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing. Visitation, at the funeral home, will be held one hour prior to funeral services.
Philip was born April 10, 1981 in Lewisburg, PA to Leona Mowery Jensen and the late Eugene Lewis Herman, Jr. He proudly served in the United States Navy for four years. Philip worked as an aircraft mechanic with M1 Services at Ft. Rucker for 16 years. During his free time, he loved to work on his cars and drag racing. He also enjoyed flying in black hawk helicopters and working on them.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene “Gene” Lewis Herman, Jr and one stepsister, Lindsey Jensen.
Philip is survived by his wife of 20 years, Chasity Lynn Herman; three children, Parker, Jameson and Olivia Herman all of Hartford, AL; mother, Leona Jensen (Jere) of Hartford, AL; one sister, Megan Stockinger (Doug) of IL; one nephew, Ayden Stockinger, one niece, Madeline Stockinger both of IL, step-mother, Laura M. Herman of Samson, AL; father and mother-in-law, James and Charline Dunn of Bonifay, FL; brother-in-law, Jake Dunn of Bonifay, FL; step-sister, Julie Bedsole of Samson, AL; three step-brothers, Justin Bedsole (Mary) of Kinston, AL, Kurt Jensen (Leah) of Hartford, AL, and Jared Jensen of Coffee Springs, AL; five step-nieces, Amelia Bedsole, Macie Watley, Lily, Kate, and Wren Jensen. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
