Phillip DeWayne Jennings of Samson, Alabama passed away May 17, 2022 at the age of 70.
A celebration of life service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Dustin Wise officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Phillip was born in Florala, AL on June 17, 1951 to the late Opal Willie and Voncile Mitchell Jennings. He was a devoted husband and loving father. There wasn’t much he couldn’t do with his hands or his mind. He was an extremely skilled carpenter, who enjoyed building things. Phillip took great pride in his work and expected no less of others. His passion was fishing and playing his guitar, especially when he was surrounded by his friends and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tonya Jennings and a brother, William “Foster” Jennings.
Phillip was survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Debbie Jennings; three sons, Joe Jennings (Pam), Jeff Jennings and Jason Jennings (Heather) all of Samson, AL; ten grandchildren, Ty Jennings (Baylee), Magen Jennings, Madison Jennings, Nate Jennings, Sunny Jennings, Kaden Owens, Kassidy and Karlee Hester; Justice and Max Terry; one sister, Opalene Jennings; one brother, Tony Jennings; and several loving nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
