Burial will follow with military honors in Mt. Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1:30 – 3 pm.

Phillip Vance “Billy” Johnson, 72, a lifelong resident of Houston County, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church with Brother Don Tew and Rev. Robert Canant officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in Mt. Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1:30 – 3 pm.
Mr. Johnson was born on July 6, 1948 in Andalusia, AL and lived the early years of his life in Early County, GA. He resided in Dothan for the passed 50 years. Mr. Johnson served his country proudly with the US Marines where he served 2 tours in Vietnam. Following his military service, he was a truck driver for more than 30 years. His love for travel remained until his death. He was always ready for one last trip. Mr. Johnson loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Vance and Lucille Stewart Johnson, by his brother, Bobby Fred Johnson, and by his nephew, Braden Paul Johnson.
He leaves his loving wife of 50 years, Teresa Cooper Johnson; his son, Phillip Scott (April) Johnson; his daughter, Gina Johnson (Wesley) Crowley; his grandchildren, Hunter (Megan) Benefield, Emma, Elijah, and Ella Johnson, Emily Odom, Adeline and Grayson Crowley, and Caroline Crowley (Ralls) Pennington; his brother and sisters, Diane Paramore, Shirley Boyett, Faye Benefield, and Paul Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews, Justyn Jackson, Hunter Benefield, Vance Boyett, and Grayson Crowley.
