R. B. “SONNY” HUDSPETH


HEADLAND…R. B. “Sonny” Hudspeth, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Tuesday night, July 27, 2021, at his home. He was 79.


            Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory, with Reverend Delvick J. McKay officiating. The family ask that all attendees wear mask and follow social distancing guidelines. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.


            Mr. Hudspeth was born in Henry County, Alabama, to the late Eddie Lee Hudspeth and Eloise Thornton Hudspeth. He was a lifelong resident of Henry County, Alabama. He was a truck driver by trade. He worked with several different companies, but retired working with Lewis Incorporated (4-L Trucking) of Headland, Alabama.


            Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.


            Leaving to cherish his memories are Futcher Mae Floyd; his daughters, Deborah Floyd of Dothan, AL, Wanda Floyd McKay (Tommy) of Headland, AL, Angela Nelson of Headland, AL, Rosetta Miller (Telvis) of Dothan, AL, and Sharla May (Brian) of Jacksonville, FL; his grandchildren, Marques Morris, Aspen Floyd, Ashton Floyd, Avery Miller, Bria May, and Brian May Jr.; his great-granddaughter, Kynli Tomlin; his sister, Ruby Knight of Headland, AL; and his sisters-in-law, Alice Hudspeth, Joann Floyd, and Pearlie Doxilley; a brother-in-law, Otis Earl Floyd; and also several nieces and nephews.
