Mrs. Rachel Elizabeth Cothern of Coffee Springs passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.  She was 52.


Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend Donnie Earles officiating.  Burial will follow in Shady Grove Assembly of God Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 – 7 p.m.

Rachel was born October 1, 1963, in Andalusia, Alabama to the late Kenneth and Doris Elizabeth Granberry Jerkins.


In addition to her parents, her brother, Winston “Red” Qualls and her father-in-law, J.E. Cothern preceded her in death.


Survivors include her husband, Ricky J. Cothern of Coffee Springs; two children: April Cothern and Ricky J. Cothern, Jr., both of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; one grandchild, Ashton J. Cothern; five sisters: Debra Qualls of Enterprise, Patricia Watson (Wayland) of New Brockton, Martie Allums of Daleville, Sheila Bogle of Enterprise, Teresa McInnis (Mike) of Enterprise; a brother: Kenny Jerkins of Enterprise; her mother-in-law, Lessie Bee Cothern; many beloved nieces and nephews.
